About Cornerstone
Our Story
In February of 2023, a group of faithful Christians met to pray and seek God's guidance. It was in the weekly prayer meetings that this small group was called to plant a new church in Concord, NC. Shortly after Grace Church of Concord was formed, the leaders of the church began to hear a calling to launch a new Christ-centered preschool in the Concord community. In just three months, God brough all the right people, places, and resources to make this happen. In May of 2023, the congregation of River Rock at Odell would vote to rent their building to Grace Church, and a beautiful partnership began.
In May Cornerstone Preschool was born. Then, in just a few more short months, God brought everything together so that children would fill the classrooms for the first time in August of 2023. ONLY GOD could do what was done in such a short amount of time. Today, the preschool is 125 children and 16 "full" staff strong. We give God all the glory and honor for what He has done, is doing, and will do at and through Cornerstone Preschool.
At Cornerstone Preschool, we believe that every child is a precious gift, and we are committed to providing a safe and loving environment where they can learn, grow, and flourish. Our mission at Cornerstone Preschool is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. We will do this in the preschool by connecting with your children and building relationships using Jesus Christ as our example and his Word as our guide; growing your children physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually while looking to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for guidance; and serving alongside you as we create an atmosphere that shows and teaches children what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ and proclaims Jesus Christ as our Cornerstone.
